Vessel Series 1-5
heavily influenced by aquatic and plant life, this lathe turned wood series resides in a realm where these two worlds meet. The result is an array of objects, which bend, fold, and curve with a sense of plasticity that denies their materials. Colors and textures emerge from their surfaces as if grown from their centers. Moments of sensibility - a nostalgia for childhood, the perfection of a seashell, the lone flower - objects for pause amidst the continual rush of activity, a sense of familiarity, yet distance.
